Simple Things to Help Address Climate Change

Climate change is something which effects everyone, but do we really take time to think about it.   The effects of climate change have been seen already, but by doing our bit to save the planet, we are giving younger generations the chance to grow up the way we have, with green trees and flowing creeks.

Yes, switching off a light and a few appliances will help climate change, but let’s get serious.   In today’s society it isn’t simply about talking about it, it’s actually doing it and not putting it off.   Why not walk down the street or ride your bike to work, clear your mind with a relaxing morning walk and build up your fitness.

On a sunny day, hang out the washing on the line instead of using a dryer.  Grab a blanket while watching a movie rather than turning up the heater.  Simple things will help us to sustain what we have left now and not ruin it further for the future.   Recycle cans, reuse plastic bags, go solar, there are hundreds of things every one of us can do to help the environment we live in at the moment.

Rebate schemes for washing machines, shower heads and anything that will save water, are a great incentive for households to go green.  Timers to limit shower time and save water are a great idea, how many of us use them?  A one minute shower uses approximately 5 gallons of water, we all know the numbers are staggering when five people use the shower once a day for five minutes each.

There are so many simple things we can do every day to help out, perhaps  we all need to start seriously thinking about changing for the environment not the environment changing for us.
