Obama Plans to Double Alternative Energy
Barack Obama continues to say that when he takes office later this month he will begin his quest to double American production of alternative energy over three years. The green energy plans are a part of the stimulus proposals hoped to drag the US economy out of recession. "To finally spark the creation of a clean energy economy, we will double the production of alternative energy in the next three years," he said in a major speech detailing what is likely to be at least an $800 billion dollar economic stimulus package. Obama hopes the package can generate up to 3 million new jobs, many of which would be in the "green" category.
"We will modernize more than 75% of federal buildings and improve the energy efficiency of millions of American homes, saving consumers and taxpayers billions on our energy bills," Obama added.
